Everything we do revolves around this one purpose. If it doesn’t help us accomplish this, we won’t do it.
Our Values:
1. Missional Living (John 17:6-16)
As Christians, we are missionaries in the cultures in which we live. Our name is The CrossCurrent because we believe that is where we are supposed to live—in the tension of being in the world but not becoming like it. We are a church that goes to where people are and don’t expect people to come to us without any relationship being built first. Our whole lives are to be lived for the mission of God: Connecting the disconnected to Him
2. Passionate Christian Spirituality (Romans 12:1-2)
It’s our belief that we can’t compartmentalize our lives and separate God from our regular lives. Our spirituality needs to be passionate in every area of our lives from work, to family, to church and the way we interact with others in the community. Our faith needs to be viral and this is a huge way in which it is caught.
3. Contagious Generosity ( 2 Corinthians 9:6-11)
Just as Jesus stepped down out of the riches of heaven into our existence and gave Himself for us, we want to be as generous as we possibly can, with all we have, in every area of our lives. This means that as individuals we will be generous in our personal lives as well as in our collective faith community. We will give of our money, our time, our resources and anything else that we have to give in order to bring the Kingdom of heaven to earth.
4. Authentic community (Acts 2:42-47)
No one is meant to live alone. We are wired to have people in our lives where we can be real without fear of judgement. It’s in this kind of community where people will grow as Christians and become the people that they were made to be. We are on the journey of becoming honest with God, ourselves and others.
5. Life Altering Adventure (John 10:10)
We seriously believe that being a follower of Jesus is supposed to be the most exciting thing that any person could ever do or be. When Jesus said that he came to give us life, we believe that he meant it. We want to live our lives as if there wasn’t another day to live. This means that we will take advantage of every second we are alive and fully live it for Jesus.
