So let’s start at the beginning. The Bible is clear that Jesus has existed from the beginning of time (John 1:1, Colossians 1:15-17) and that he is an integral part of creation. Through him all things were created, including 2 people you may have heard of before, Adam and Eve.
Adam and Eve were the first 2 people to ever be created. They were given free reign of a place called the Garden of Eden, which in modern day times is somewhere in the middle east. They were told that they could eat of any fruit they wanted, except from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 3). Seems pretty simple right? It is until someone comes along and convinces you that God had no idea what he was doing and that you knew more than he did. So eat the fruit! That’s exactly what Satan did, in the form of a serpent. (ref.)
Adam and Eve gave in and ate the fruit and because of that, the consequence of their sin (worship of self over God) was separation from God. Immediately they were thrown out of the garden and history was set on a course where finding a path back to God was the primary goal.
